Commercial Real Estate News Volume 4 No 4 (37) April 2010 RETAIL FOCUS TriGranit share holders inspect Arenas construction progress IKEA s Port Lodz Arena Centar works ahead of schedule A delegation of TriGranit shareholders and executive management recently visited Zagreb to inspect the construction progress of Arena Centar, which is set to open its doors to visitors at the end of this year. Representing the only larger shopping-entertainment centre to open in Croatia this year, Arena Centar is valued at 244 mil- lion, covers 175,000 sqm and will offer 60,000 sqm of retail space. The TriGranit delegation, comprising of 19 members, some of which visited Zagreb for the first time, was led by Messrs. Sándor Demján and Peter Munk. During the Arena Centar site tour, the TriGranit delegation was given a brief and presented with the final architectural illustrations of the centres large outdoor area, which will offer visitors a pleasant urban landscaped area, full of interactive sculptures, benches, a large fountain, cafes and restaurants, as well as a modern square technically equipped for outdoor events. We are happy to see good progress in the building of Arena Centar, which represents our fl agship project in Croatia. We can already see in this fi rst phase that our vision of creating a new and modern city centre in the Croatian capital will be truly realized, said TriGranit Chairman Sándor Demján. To date 45 percent of all construction works have been com- pleted. According to the dynamics of works, by 1 May 2010, Arena Centars tenants will already be able to start fitting out their stores. Arena Centar will comprise 10 large anchors and 200 small to medium-sized stores which will include a large number of new fashion brands; a Spar hypermarket on 10,000 sqm; a CineStar multiplex cinema with 9 screens; and many other entertainment and gastronomic services new on the Croatian market. Visitors will have at their disposal 3,500 parking spaces. Port Łódź opens Port Lodz shopping centre has offi cially opened. The realisation of this 200 million investment project has taken about 16 months. Cushman & Wakefield is responsible for the commercialization of the centre, in cooperation with the leasing department of Inter IKEA Centre Polska S.A. Port Łódź shopping centre is heralded as one of the largest shopping centres in the region. The complex covers a total area of 127,000 sqm, with 100,000 sqm intended for lease. A recreational and retail zone with childrens play area, stage and tree-covered garden is 10,000 sqm. The facility also offers a patio combining recreational, sports and leisure functions. The primary catch- ment area holds around 1.5 million of potential customers. Over 33,000 sqm is occupied by IKEA. The tenant group includes Leroy Merlin, H&M, C&A, RESERVED, Cropptown, House, Mohito, Home&You, Cubus, Benetton, ExiSport, Saturn, RTV EURO AGD, Douglas and other leading national and international brands. Port Łódź will feature over 200 stores and service points of various offers. Pure Platinum opens in Cuprum Arena Pure Health and Fitness has opened its Platinum club in the Cuprum Arena shopping centre in Lubin. Th is is the chain s sixth club in Poland and third of the Platinum type, representing the highest standard. The chain of Pure clubs in Poland was established by British specialists run- ning similar clubs in the UK for many years. Until recently Pure had its clubs in the largest cities - Warsaw and Kraków.
